So Thankful!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
I am so  so thankful for my family, my wonderful husband, my beautiful healthy children, my warm home and food and water! I am so blessed! There is nothing better then watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade! I loved watching it every year with my mom when I was growing up and now I get to watch it with my babies! Told Broxton that one day we will go to New York for Thanksgiving and go to the parade and see all the magic.

Apples

So this past week I spent the evening with my Mother-In-Law in her kitchen learning how to can. It was so fun. I have never done it before and have always wanted too. We love Apple Crisp here at the Chaplin home so we decided to do canned apples to put in my pantry to have on hand when we want some yummy dessert. I love cooking with my Mother-In-Law and getting to spent time with her. Next on my list to can are peaches!

First we peeled and cored the apples using
this awesomely fun machine!
Way more fun then doing it by hand.

Then we made the apple mixture on the stove

Then we added the apples to the mixture. YUM!

Then we put them in the mason jars
and WA LA- we have canned apples!
They are so pretty!

While I was doing the apples, Broxton and Grandma
were making homemade noodles
for Chicken Noodle Soup.
He loves cooking with her too!

Voting Day!

Today was a big day. We got to go to the election place and vote for who our future President of the United States would be. Proud to say I voted today. Thankful that I love in a country that allows the freedom to do so. I so very proud to be an American!

The race this time was between Barack Obama (current President) and Mitt Romney. Just heard on the TV that Obama just won and will serve as our President for the next 4 years.  This will be an interesting next 4 years. The last time I voted I was 8 months pregnant with Broxton and now I have 2 kids. Crazy to think that the next time we get to vote I will have an 8 year old and a 5 year old!

The most WONDERFUL place!

This past Saturday was one of the most wonderful experience I have had in my entire life! The Boise Idaho Temple was just recently renovated and they are having their open house, where anyone that wants to can walk through it before it is dedicated here in the next couple weeks. It was so awesome to walk through and see all the beautiful rooms and get to have my whole family there with me. My parents and little brother and my other little brother and his wife and little boy and my Mam and Papa and my Grams were all there. It meant the world to me that I got to walk next to my husband who was holding our son's hand and I carrying our daughter and quietly walk through the House of the Lord. I cried as soon as we entered. It was the most amazing feeling. Even though it hasn't been dedicated yet you can still feel the spirit so strong. There were the most beautiful paintings of Christ and Broxton said as soon as we walked in "Hey, Mom there's Jesus" with a  big smile on his face and every time Tinley saw one she would point and smile and in her little voice she would laugh with excitement. It was as if she sees him everyday. That day at the temple was a moment in time  that I will never forget. One day I know we will get to go back as a family and walk through again and be sealed together!

Cousin's in from of the Temple.
Such a special picture

I love how Tinley is holding on to
her brother's hand and smiling at her cousin!
