So Thankful!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
I am so  so thankful for my family, my wonderful husband, my beautiful healthy children, my warm home and food and water! I am so blessed! There is nothing better then watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade! I loved watching it every year with my mom when I was growing up and now I get to watch it with my babies! Told Broxton that one day we will go to New York for Thanksgiving and go to the parade and see all the magic.

Apples

So this past week I spent the evening with my Mother-In-Law in her kitchen learning how to can. It was so fun. I have never done it before and have always wanted too. We love Apple Crisp here at the Chaplin home so we decided to do canned apples to put in my pantry to have on hand when we want some yummy dessert. I love cooking with my Mother-In-Law and getting to spent time with her. Next on my list to can are peaches!

First we peeled and cored the apples using
this awesomely fun machine!
Way more fun then doing it by hand.

Then we made the apple mixture on the stove

Then we added the apples to the mixture. YUM!

Then we put them in the mason jars
and WA LA- we have canned apples!
They are so pretty!

While I was doing the apples, Broxton and Grandma
were making homemade noodles
for Chicken Noodle Soup.
He loves cooking with her too!

Voting Day!

Today was a big day. We got to go to the election place and vote for who our future President of the United States would be. Proud to say I voted today. Thankful that I love in a country that allows the freedom to do so. I so very proud to be an American!

The race this time was between Barack Obama (current President) and Mitt Romney. Just heard on the TV that Obama just won and will serve as our President for the next 4 years.  This will be an interesting next 4 years. The last time I voted I was 8 months pregnant with Broxton and now I have 2 kids. Crazy to think that the next time we get to vote I will have an 8 year old and a 5 year old!

The most WONDERFUL place!

This past Saturday was one of the most wonderful experience I have had in my entire life! The Boise Idaho Temple was just recently renovated and they are having their open house, where anyone that wants to can walk through it before it is dedicated here in the next couple weeks. It was so awesome to walk through and see all the beautiful rooms and get to have my whole family there with me. My parents and little brother and my other little brother and his wife and little boy and my Mam and Papa and my Grams were all there. It meant the world to me that I got to walk next to my husband who was holding our son's hand and I carrying our daughter and quietly walk through the House of the Lord. I cried as soon as we entered. It was the most amazing feeling. Even though it hasn't been dedicated yet you can still feel the spirit so strong. There were the most beautiful paintings of Christ and Broxton said as soon as we walked in "Hey, Mom there's Jesus" with a  big smile on his face and every time Tinley saw one she would point and smile and in her little voice she would laugh with excitement. It was as if she sees him everyday. That day at the temple was a moment in time  that I will never forget. One day I know we will get to go back as a family and walk through again and be sealed together!

Cousin's in from of the Temple.
Such a special picture

I love how Tinley is holding on to
her brother's hand and smiling at her cousin!

Happy Halloween

This last Friday was Halloween at my work. My work really gets into it ...with decorations and costume contest and then a Tick-OR-Treating  at the end of the day for all the employees families.  It is a fun day. Well, this year my department decided to be Neverland  We had a Captain Hook, Peter Pan, Wendy, John, the Crocodile, Tiger Lily, and I was Tinkerbell. We decorated our area like Neverland with a huge tree and Captain Hooks ship and much more made out of plastic table cloths. It turned out great. We find out this week if our team won.
Later that afternoon Brody brought the kids so we could take them around and Trick-OR Treat. Broxton and Tinley LOVED it! They thought it was so fun. Here are pics of our fun afternoon....

My little "Bya Bighta" (Fire Fighter)
and my little Pumpkin.
They are so cute and they loved dressing up!

Pumpkin Patch

We took our kids to the Pumpkin Patch this weekend. It was so much fun. We went with my best friend Hailey and her little family, and my parents and little brother. We all met up and jumped on the hay ride out to the pumpkin patch. Once we got to the patch we walked and walked looking for the most perfect pumpkins. Once they were found we went and got some dinner. It was a great night spent with family. Our Pumpkins now reside on our front porch for the fall season and pumpkin carving for Halloween.

Cousins!

I am so happy that my children get to have a cousin (hopefully one day more cousins :)) that is so close to them in age and that live just down the street. My brother and I grew up with a bunch of cousins our age and we we always together. I hope that Broxton, Tinley and Jace grow up to be close and that they get to go to the same school, and have sleepovers, and Brox & Jace get to play the same sports. Being with my cousins were some of the best childhood memories I have and I hope that my children get those same wonderful memories!

IT's OCTOBER!!

I can not believe it is October already! Well... all I can say is that we are ready for all the FALL festivities.  Decorations are all up, we are going to pick pumpkins this weekend, and yummy food will be made:)
Broxton just picked out his Halloween costume... he is going to be a "byer bighter" AKA Firefighter. He is so excited. and Tinley is going to be a pumpkin.  I also had to get them both matching glow-n-the-dark bone jammies. They love going into the bathroom and shutting the door with the lights off just to see them glow

The Cabin!

A couple weeks ago we had the opportunity to go up to my Aunt and Uncle's Cabin. We went with my parents and my little brother. It was a lot of fun to get away from the city and head to the woods and just relax for a couple days in the quietness of nature. We use to go up to the Cabin often when we were growing up but as the busyness of life happened, lots of time pasted since we last were there. We had a great time and we look forward to going back. Thank you Aunt Lorie and Uncle Trey for a fun weekend!

Here is a pic from back in the day
of me and my brother with
our cousins on the cabin swing.

Here is my little family now on that same swing.

Tinley's first boat ride ever. She loved it
but hated her life jacket.

Tinley wanted to sit with Nama the whole time:)

I love this picture of my husband!

This was Brody's first time trying to surf
behind the boat.

It was pretty fun to watch

I love how he is still smiling as he
is falling off the surf board

surfing is really done:)

The Fair & The Dentist

The last fee weeks of August were pretty busy,
with the annual fair that comes to town
and Broxton's first trip ever to the Dentist.

THE FAIR!

While we were at the fair Broxton was brave
enough to ride the pony. He absolutely loved it.

We have had horrible smoke in the
air due to the fires all around us this summer.
You can really tell how smoky
it has been in this picture.

Broxton's First trip to the Dentist!
We have been practicing at home a lot getting
Brox prepared for visiting the Dentist. We had
him lay down in the recliner and pretend to look
in his mouth and brush his teeth laying down.
He thought it was fun and that is all he
talked about was getting to go and see
the Dentist in August. When the day finally
came he was such a trooper.
He did a wonderful job.
He never cried and he even had a smile on
his face the whole time.He got on the chair and
picked out his toothpaste and even counted his teeth
with the Dentist.- He has 20 teeth.
After he was all done
he got to pick out his own toothbrush to take home
and also one to take home for Tinley too.
I am so proud of my little man for being so
brave and just a good sport at the Dentist.
I hope he loves going to get his teeth cleaned a
s much as his Dad and I do.
