Tinley turned ONE!!!

My baby girl turned one on Sunday, May 13th.  Not only was it her birthday but it was Mother's day and what better way to celebrate! I cant believe she is one. This past year has gone by so fast. That day I sat and thought about that same spring day one year ago. I remember how excited I was to finally meet her and see her beautiful face with her tiny ears and lips and her tiny fingers. I remember how excited I was to hear her voice. May 13th, 2011 at 10:42 pm, Tinley Lake joined our family. After she was born and they placed that sweet little body on my chest and her little cries, all I could think about was how happy I was to have a healthy baby girl in my arms and I remember looking at her Dad who was crying and he had the biggest smile on his face. It was the most perfect day and one I will never forget. Tinley sure has had a busy and very eventful year. She learned to roll over, sit up on her own, army crawl and then really crawl to keep up with her brother, pull herself up, stand, eat solid foods, babble, paint her toes for the 1st time and smile.  This next year will be just as busy and I cant wait to see what the next year as in store and all the accomplishments that she has waiting for her. May 13th, 2011 was the most perfect day when our little girl joined our family!

Since Tinley's birthday was on Mother's Day, we decided to have her birthday the day before. It was a fun little party. She had a Wizard of Oz Party and our family came and we celebrated her special day.

Loved eating her cake

Tinley's first birthday cake that I made special for her (many thanks to Nama for helping too)

 Opening up her presents

I had to take a picture in her tutu on her first birthday too, to go with her new born picture.

Swing Away!

We finally got a swing set, thanks so much to Uncle Ty & Aunt Malia. They moved into a new house and the people before them left a perfectly good swing set in the yard. Since they don't have little ones yet, they are letting us use it for a while. We are so excited. Broxton just loves to go out and play on the slide and swing on the glider thing.  He even helped Dad put it together. Tinley loves going down the slide too. She just giggles and giggles every time she goes down (of coarse with the help of Dad.)

Pink Toes!

This last weekend was nothing but beautiful weather. It was finally warm, actually in the 90's. There was sunshine galore and what better way to enjoy it, then painting your toes PINK!
I had a wonderful time spending an afternoon with my little girl and getting to paint her little toes PINK. This was her first painting ever and she did a great job. I cant wait for many more days/months/years ahead of us painting our toes! Love my baby girl and love her tiny feet.

Johnas The Bear

For Christmas Uncle Mikey, Aunt Danielle, and Jace gave Broxton a gift card to Build- A- Bear. It was such a great gift. Broxton loves that place just as every other little kid does.  Every time we walk by it in the mall he always wants to go inside an look around. Well, we got in the car and headed out on our adventure to the mall and Brox was so excited to go!

When we got there, he picked out his bear body and then took it to the stuffing machine and he got to step on the button that put the stuffing in his bear. He also got to pick a heart to put inside as well.

After the stuffing, we went over to the bath station. This is where Broxton got to wash his bear before we picked out his clothes.

Broxton got to then pick out his bears clothes and of coarse of all the hundreds of choices he picked a football outfit. He got to get his bear dressed and put on his helmet.

The next and final step was for Brox to name his bear and of coarse pay for him. Broxton chose to name him "Johnas" I have no idea where he got it but he came up with it all by himself. He said with a big smile on his face... "His name Johnas. That perfect!"

Broxton loved making his special bear. Thank you uncle Mikey, Aunt Danielle and Jace for such a special and fun gift.

I'm a Princess...

Last night Broxton said, "Look Momma, that's you!
She looks like Momma"
So I looked a the TV and sure enough it was Princess Fiona from Shrek, when she is an ogre.
Ha ha ha! I'm not sure how to take that? :) I just love the funny innocent things he comes up with.
I guess my little boy thinks I am a beautiful princess no matter what I may look like!

Happy Easter!

We had a wonderful Easter this year.
The weather was beautiful, bright and sunny and it was perfect!

We woke up and Broxton and Tinley opened their Easter baskets full of toys and chocolate bunnies. We had cinnamon rolls for breakfast and went to church.

The primary kids sang at church but Broxton got too scared so he didn't join them. Maybe next time. This was his first time singing with the kids. They sang "I'm Trying to be like Jesus". He has been singing it at home while he plays with his toys. At first I couldn't understand what he was singing so I asked him and he grabbed my hand and took me to the picture of Jesus in our living room and sang it to me. It was such a great moment. It was then that I realized that my two little babies are the ones helping remind me to be more like our Savior. Also Broxton's Primary teacher Sister Glynn, had given him an Easter basket that had a colored picture of the Savior and the Tomb and Broxton thought that was so neat. That night when we got home he asked me if he could take the picture of Jesus with him to bed and say his nighttime prayers with him. I loved that. He reminded me then too, that Jesus will always be there no matter what.

After Church we went over to Grandma's and Grandpa's house and had an Easter Egg hunt and dinner with the Chaplin Family and Grams. It was a wonderful time. Ham for dinner was awesome and Broxton had a great time hunting for eggs. He loved all the candy that Grandma gave him too.

The Saturday before Easter my Mom and I made Sugar Eggs for my kiddos. It was so fun to be able to do something this special with my Mom. I loved spending the day with her. For my first Easter, my Mom made me a sugar egg and I still have it. I thought it would be fun to do it for my kids too.

This was also Tinley's First Easter. She looked so pretty in her yellow gingham dress. I went shopping for her Easter dress and I saw it and had to buy it because I remembered my Mom bought me a yellow gingham dress for my first Easter.

10 MONTHS!

Our baby girl turned 10 months yesterday March 13, 2012. I cant believe she is almost 1. Where has the time gone? Tinley is such a sweet girl. She is very gentle and soft spoken. She has such a little voice. She loves to say "Ba Ba Ba Ba". I try to get her to say "Ma Ma" but it doesn't work. She did say it one time while she was eating but I think it was just because she was hungry. Tinley hardly cries. The only time she does is when she is hungry. She is an awesome sleeper, sleeping 9 - 10 hrs each night. When she is tired we can put her in her bed and she will sooth herself to sleep (which usually doesn't take but 2 minutes). She has two teeth on the bottom front. Some of her favorite foods are... Pears & Squash, anything with apples, Pear/Cinnamon/Oatmeal, Rice cereal, Veggies & Mac N Cheese, Turkey & Sweet Potatoes dinner. Tinley also loves her sippy cup of water. She hasn't really gotten the whole sucking the water out but she likes to bite the top so the water will dribble out. She also loves her Gerber rice puffs and yogurt bites. She loves ice cream too (she's her daddy's girl). Tinley doesn't really crawl... she Army Crawls. She gets on her hands and knees and rocks back and forth but she just cant seam to make her hand and knees move step by step. She just falls on her tummy and Army Crawls. It is so cute. She tries so hard. She gets her feet going and pulls her body forward with her right arm. When she is tired of that she lays on her tummy with her hands and feet in the air and waves them wild. It kinda looks like she is swimming. Maybe we have a future swimmer on our hands. Tinley loves to watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse with her brother. She LOVES her brother too. She follows him everywhere and he is so good with her, making sure she has her blanket and that there is nothing on the ground that is small and can put in her mouth, and he waits patiently for her to wake up every morning and make noises in the monitor so he can play with her. A few weeks ago we were able to put a barrette in her hair for the first time. Not much hair but just enough for a cute barrette. Tinley loves to rub her hands on her Daddy's whiskers while he feeds her a bottle and she loves to be close to Mom. I get home from work and she doesn't ever want to leave my side. I just am so in love with her!

We love you so much Tinley Girl!
