" The Best Day"

This is Brody & Broxton's Song...

The Best Day

George Strait

We loaded up my old station wagon
With a tent, a Coleman and sleepin' bags.
Some fishin' poles, a cooler of Cokes,
Three days before we had to be back.

When you're seven you're in seventh heaven
When you're goin' campin' in the wild outdoors.
As we turned off on that old dirt road
He looked at me and swore...

Dad, this could be the best day of my life.
I've been dreamin' day and night about the fun we'll have.
Just me and you doin' what I've always wanted to.

I'm the luckiest boy alive,
This is the best day of my life.

His fifteenth birthday rolled around,
Classic cars were his thing.
When I pulled in the drive with that old Vette
I thought that boy would go insane.

When you're in your teens
Your dreams revolve around four spinnin' wheels.
We worked nights on end 'till it was new again,
And as he sat behind the wheel he said,

Dad, this could be the best day of my life.
I've been dreamin' day and night about the fun we've had.
Just me and you doin' what I've always wanted to.
I'm the luckiest boy alive
This is the best day of my life.

Standin' in a little room back of the church with our tuxes on,
Lookin' at him I say, I can't believe, son that you've grown.
He said,

Dad, this could be the best day of my life.
I've been dreamin' day and night of bein' like you.
Now it's me and her,
Watchin' you and mom I've learned,
I'm the luckiest man alive,
This is the best day of my life.

I'm the luckiest man alive,
This is the best day of my life.

"It Won't Be Like This For Long"

Brody told me the other day in the car that this is the song that reminds him of his baby girl....

It Won't Be Like This For Long
Darius Rucker

He didn't have to wake up
He'd been up all night
Lying there in bed and listening
To his newborn baby cry

He makes a pot of coffee
He splashes water on his face
His wife gives him a kiss and says,
"It's gonna be okay"

"It won't be like this for long
One day we'll look back laughing
At the week we brought her home
This phase is gonna fly by
So baby, just hold on
It won't be like this for long"

Four years later, 'bout 4:30
She's crawling in their bed
And when he drops her off at pre-school
She's clinging to his leg
The teacher peels her off of him
He says, "What can I do?"
She says, "Now, don't you worry
This'll only last a week or two"

"It won't be like this for long
One day soon you'll drop her off
And she won't even know you're gone
This phase is gonna fly by
If you can just hold on
It won't be like this for long"

Someday soon she'll be a teenager
And at times, he'll think she hates him
And he'll walk her down the aisle
And raise her veil,
But right now she's up and cryin'
And the truth is that he don't mind
As he kisses her goodnight
And she says her prayers

He lays down there beside her
Till her eyes are finally closed
And just watching her it breaks his heart
'Cause he already knows

It won't be like this for long
One day soon that little girl is gonna be
All grown up and gone
And this phase is gonna fly by
So he's trying to hold on
It won't be like this for long
It won't be like this for long

2 Months ...

A couple week ago Tinley turn 2 months old. Last week we went for her check up and she gotten to be quite the big girl. She now is weighing in a 10 lbs 4 oz and is 22 inches. She is marking at the 50% in all categories. Tinley is doing great. She is one happy girl too. She just started smiling and cooing. Sometime she has quite the story to tell. She just loves her Grandpa too. When ever he gets near she just brightens up and smiles and talks to him as if they were have a full on conversation. They are best buds. Grandpa calls her his little girlfriend, it's pretty cute.

Loves her Grandpa!

Hanging out with her brother!

I love taking pics of Tinley and then finding almost the exact same one I took of Broxton around the same age. It is so fun to see how similar they are. It's a true fact, Tinley is just a girl version of her brother. (the pic below of Tinley is after her 2 month appointment. She got her shots and she got those cool pink camo band-aides)

Family Reunion & a Blessing.....

This last weekend we had our Weaver Family Reunion. It was so much fun. We all got together at a park wore our Weaver Family Reunion t-shirts, played games, kids played in the water and on the toys, and we eat great food. Then the next day we all went to a hot springs pool and swam, and then headed to our cousin's house and had a big BBQ with all the fixins. We played more games and hung out and then we had a big birthday cake to celebrate all the summer birthdays, the kids put on a puppet show and then we did a play that my Aunt Teressa put together about our ancestors. It was really fun learning about how the Weaver Family came to be and how our ancestors lived and how we got to where we are today.

A very special thanks goes out to my Aunt Teressa and my Mom
for putting together such a great family reunion and getting us all together.

The whole clan!

The Chaplin Family
The Tinker Family
Nama & Papa & Tinley
Mikey & Danielle & Jace
Taos & Broxton
Playing Games
And more games
Grams & Brody playing cards
The older kids doing their puppets show (The Three Little Pigs)
for the little little kids
After the older kids did their puppet show,
Broxton did his own puppet show all by himself.
It was so cute!

Then on Sunday (July 10, 2011) our baby girl was Blessed. Her Uncle Mikey blessed her and it was so wonderful. There is something so special about a Blessing and having your little receive their name... the name that they will be known by for the rest of their lives. It was also special because Tinley wore the same Blessing dress that my mom and I wore on our Blessing day. Aunt Danielle got Tinley her bracelet too. It is a special tradition that she wanted to do for Tinley... get her a bracelet for her to wear on the 3 most important days in a little girl's life.... her Blessing day, Baptism day, and her wedding day. It was such a wonderful day and Tinley looked so beautiful.

Below are my babies on their Blessing day!
These pictures are so special to me. I just love them.

Happy 4th of July!

We had a wonderful 4th of July this year. We spent the day at Grandma & Grandpa's with Brody's aunt & cousins. We all went to the 4th of July parade, got milkshakes, swam, had a BBQ, played games, lit fireworks, and had dessert. It was a really fun day. I am so proud to be an American and to live in a land where we are free and I am so thankful for the men and women who serve our country day in and day out to keep us free.

Summer and a Wedding...

So Summer is officially here. We have had such a great time so far and it has only just begun.....

June has been very eventful! We celebrated our anniversary. 4 years already and I cant wait to spend the next Forever with my husband! I am the luckiest girl... I am married to the most wonderful & handsome man who is an amazing husband and fantastic father to our children. We had such a wonderful anniversary. The kids stayed with Nama & Taos while Brody and I went out to dinner at the Olive Garden and then to the Tim McGraw concert. It was AWESOME!! This was our first time leaving Tinley but we did good. She and Broxton had a great time playing with Nama & Taos.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY BABE! I LOVE YOU!

We have gone ice-blocking and we got a new car. Ice-blocking was so fun. We went with Brody's cousin's and Dad. It was their first time and I think they had a fun time. Broxton even went down on a tiny little bump on the hill by himself. Dad was right behind him pushing him.
I love our new car. We got rid of our Jetta because there is absolutely no room for 2 car seats in the back without the driver and passenger basically sitting on the dash of the car and the 2 double stroller wouldn't fit in the trunk. It was horribly cramped so we got a little bigger car. We all love our new car. One Saturday morning Brox had to go outside with his Dad and wash the car. He was so excited he didn't even want to change out of his jammies.

Brody's brother Tyson got married too. It was a wonderful evening wedding and Malia looked beautiful and we are so excited to have her in our family. Broxton was their little ring bearer. He did a great job. We practiced and practiced with him cause we thought that he might not want to or do something silly like throw the ring box but he didn't. He walked down the isle and even handed the ring box to Uncle Ty. He was so cute. Malia's mom and aunts made all the little girls in their family matching dresses and they even made Tinley one. She looked so pretty. Right after the wedding was the reception full of love songs, food, and a very fun candy bar. My favorite thing was the cupcake ice cream cones (which I am so going to make) and the fortune cookie treat. I loved the saying on the bag of the cookie, so cute and romantic. I think it would be an awesome saying on the wall of a living room.

CONGRATULATIONS TY & MALIA

The Awesome Park....

The weather has been so nice lately, so we have been trying to do as much as we can outside. One day we decided to go to the park and let Broxton play and walk around in the sunshine with Tinley (her first time to the park). This park was pretty neat, it actually had little water fountains for little kids and jungle gyms , swings, horseshoe pits, these big musical toys and much more. It was so fun. Brox loved running around with his Dad. We are definitely going back for sure and next time Brox can wear his swim trunks and then maybe he will like the water more (I doubt he will, but maybe.)

The awesome fountains at the park.

Broxton loves his sunglasses. Always has to have them on outside, especially if Dad has his on. He doesn't even care that they are a little big and fold down his ears.

Tinley's first time to the park. (3 weeks old)

There were tons of toys and Broxtons favorite thing to do was go up and down these stairs.

Playing with Dad.

The musical toys.
